Western Horse Riding Lessons & Camps

Fort Collins

Looking for western riding lessons or kids camps near Fort Collins or Wellington? I run a large youth program, including kids' spring & summer camps over school breaks. I am also an excellent fit for adult riders building confidence or getting to know a new horse partner. My program offers an informal and fun learning environment focused on gymkhana, trail, and ranch riding. There is a strong emphasis on horsemanship, including all aspects of owning & caring for horses. We ride March thru December and are closed for January & February.

They are suitable for new riders & students who are already riding, but not yet independently loping. Level I camps will cover catching, grooming, & saddling. Students will independently ride walk/trot (with some loping for those who are ready). Students will get on-property exposure to a range of riding disciplines, including trail/obstacles and intro to western show & gymkhana events. Fridays feature an in-house western show/gymkhana competition, along with free pizza for lunch!

Level II is for youth riders (ages 10-16) who are comfortable loping (not for new students). Level II camps will include hauling off-property to local trails, prepping for western shows (pleasure, reining, ranch riding), and practicing for gymkhana events.
